Aims and Scope

Geologica Carpathica, a scientific peer-reviewed journal, covers geodynamics, tectonics and structural geology, volcanology, stratigraphy, geochronology, geochemistry, mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, paleogeography, paleobiology, paleomagnetism, applied geophysics, and economic and environmental geology.

Geologica Carpathica focuses on the Alpine-Carpathian-Balkanian region but also covers adjacent regions from the Mediterranean Tethys and its continental foreland. Papers with new ideas, classifications, and correlations at broader spatial scales are also welcome.

Geologica Carpathica, with more than 75-year old tradition, is the Official Journal of the Carpathian-Balkan Geological Association.
